A Brief Look Ahead

AURORE, CHARLINE ET MOI

So, I have one more week of vacation and the plan is to hang around Avignon and Cavaillon, to visit Montpellier, to hang out with Tatum and Iris (if they ever repond to my emails) and to be lazy. After that I start school and then near mid-April it's vacation again and two weeks in Morocco. I come back in May and have 2 weeks left of school and then I leave. I'll be playing soccer three times a week as well and be kept plenty busy. I'll be home soon though it seems because it's all going so quickly. So....excuse me but it's time to go make us of the 22° weather. SUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy your snow!!!

A Week In Paris (not Hilton)

self portrait with the Eiffle Tower

So here I am back from a week in Paris and blogging once more and as I am tired and have spent the last 24hours either sitting or lying down I am going to give you a rather bland day-by-day so that I can go and walk around a bit. So, first off, Paris was rather dreary weather but it was fun none the less.

Saturday February 24 - we arrived at two a.m. in the morning at Sarah's appartment and when we woke up several hours later we visited the Place Des Vosges with the Jurie-Joly's Belgium friends, Dominic, Katherine and their daughters Aimée and Charline. It was quite nice and a little sunny at that point so we walked around a bit and looked at all the art galleries....yawn!! We then went to Victor Hugo (guy who wrote Les Miserables) house and explored a bit and learned about his mistress and wife and kids and exile, etc. etc. After we walked around near the Musée de Beaubourgs (which is the first picture at the top). I have no idea whats inside but it looks modern. Afterwards we went to the cemetary Père Lachàse and saw Jim Morrison's grave before getting kicked out by the guard because it was closing time.

Sunday 25 February - Today we went to Disneyland and went on insane amounts of rides and did lots of fun stuff and saw a presentation of the Lion King which was lame but entertaining none the less.

Monday 26 February - We walked by the Eiffle Tower and ate in the Trocadero gardens and visited Napolean's grave in Les Invalides and saw the war museum for world war 1 and 2. We then walked about Champs de Mars.

Tuesday 27 February - We went to the Musée du quai Branly which is a new Native Arts museum from around the world and was one of my favourite parts of the week. We then met Aurore's Paris friends Ludivine and L (I cannot for the life of me remember her name) and walked around the Champs Elysées and then went home and had dinner at their friends house. Raphael and Annielle.

Wednesday 28 February - We walked around the Louvre, the Opera and the Quartier Latin and around La Seine and Notre Dame and did some 'riverside' shopping.

Thursday 1 March - We visited Versailles and that is all I can say on that subject. In the evening we stayed with friends and they were really nice. They had three kids, Fanny (who was four and highly entertaining) and Matthieu (who broke glass and cried and is 2) and Julie (who is 7 months and slept the whole time)

Friday 2 March - We drove home all day and had lunch in Moulins on the way with friends. Very nice week. Glad it's over though because everything in Paris reminded me of my parents and our trip to Paris and that made me cry.

CRY WATCH - I haven't cried since Tuesday but I've felt like crying but couldn't it's all very very strange.

And off we go back to Paris!!!

This is my gorgeous picture of Aurore Jurie-Joly's house!! Ain't it a beauty???
This message is just to say that I am disappearing to Paris for 8 days and I will blog again and send pictures again when I return and hopefully have some interesting stories. Today I went to the train station in Avignon to get some stuff sorted out for my train pass for school and I went shopping with Alix and Sylvie (mom) and took the pictures for the train pass and bought some stuff for Paris, then I packed my bag and spent the whole day outside with the chickens and my book, which was hard to read because the cats spend the whole day grooming each other on my lap yaaaaaaaaaaaaay. So, in one hour I will meet Sarah (Philippe's daughter who is 21 or 22) and we will drive through the night to Paris which is about a 10 hour drive or something like that. We are stayiing at Delphine's house (Sylvie's daughter who is 21 or 22) and we have lots of fun movies picked out for the roadtrip (all aurore's choice~all MUST SEE tearjerkers)
A La Prochaine,
Gros Bisous!!!!

My First Meal

So the day was pretty busy, got off to a rocky start though when my room missed the hotel wake up call, breakfast and leisurely shower time. Anyhow, tonight, my first dinner was insane, it consisted of crazy conversations about everything, Paris, belgium friends, disneyland in paris and how to properly say "shut up your fucking mouth" or "bloody" and it was craaaaazy. The meal was yummy cooked tomatoes with stuff on them, salad, yummy cheese and yummy apples and fish. All of it delish!!!
In the time since I last blogged I met lots of friends, random people, heard plans, gone to the trainstation for photos and been sent home when it was out of order .........AND met Alix who is a charming, funny, very different than Aurore child and I honestly am highly amused.....by EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!! (except for this goddamn crooked keyboard but if thats my biggest worry ill live)
Tomorrow at seven pm we are picking Sarah 'the older sister' at the Avignon trainstation and driving overnight to Paris. We have a dvd player in the car and I have been told that seeing Pearl Harbour is an absolute necessity. For the next eight days I will be in a nice Parisian apartment (belonging to Delphine the other sister) with what is said to be atleast 10 people and according to Aurore, there is a suprise on Sunday or Saturday I still cannot for the life of me get my dates right.
Alrighty then........enjoy my record two blogs in less than 12 hours and have fun freezing in Canada. My love to all and goodnight. :D

Jane Finds A Minute To Spare

So, Paris went off without any problems and even though I was insanely tired I had a lot of fun with all the crazy Canadians who shared my flight! Between Alex (a cookoo but really fun travel novice), Noah ( map crazy resident "fun guy") Tatum, Tara, Madysin and Madeleine I had hardly a minute to miss any of you, ain't that the truth......

I am here in chickenland (aka Aurore's house) and so far I have seen the pool, the insanely big back yard, looked at Avignon and Cavaillon briefly, taken a house tour (their house is the most amazing, quaint home you'll ever see!!!), seen my room, looked at animals, watched the chickens lay eggs and been forced fed food (in the best possible way- whose complaining???) by a very loud, funny, exuberant father. -while Aurore stood on rolling her eyes and interrupting every now and then to say papaaaaaaaa!!!

Short story?? I'm good and happy and not sad and tomorrow I'm heading right back to Paris to spend a week there before one day in Montpellier and then school. Turns out crazy Alex from the plane lives near me and is in my class at Lycée and honestly???? Feels a little like second times the charm. Cross your fingers!!

Last Minute Details & Tears

SSPFSP - YAAAAAAAAAAAH!!
So, the last "weekend" is upon me and I actually cried this morning (a homage to Emma), just a little because I would miss my friends. I am being bombarded with last minute details when I'd really rather be on the plane or be hanging with Emma, Alisa and Kate at their "slumber day party" (??) Unfortunately, I need to do loads of crap and must leave you, but first....
EMMA ~ try not to cry to hard (jks jks) I'll miss you so much, ESPECIALLY your love life and I look forward to hearing oodles and oodles of van virgin stories and JK stories, so please, don't hide anything!!! Enjoy having Katie all to yourself because when I get back SHE'S MINE!!!
KATE ~ What can I say??? You're the best!!! I'm going to miss you so much, but get ready, cause when I come back, I'm gonna kick your ass at soccer~!!! Just joking, but I will provide stellar dee!!! (thats how i'm writing the shortform for defence) I'm gonna miss your quirkiness!!
INGRID ~ Between prepping for the SSPFSP, talking nonstop, sitting in the bathtub, watching your year of bfs (you and emma...tsk tsk, make up your minds!!-i guess you did!) and listening to you go hyper on us, my life will seriously be quieter in France (I guess I'll appreciate the noise all the more when I come home!) and seriously, don't worry about Jeremiah Vladdick something something gerster-gluzmann-martin-ness....he'll be just fine, he grows well and he kicks like a.....the word eludes me.
ALISA ~ the "newbie" - as lame as this might sound, I'll miss you so much because everyone will be getting to know you and I've only just started...shucks..Anyhow....have fun, happy sweet sixteen (i shall never stop saying that!!) and take care of Emma and Kate. See you in three with loads of French goodies and pressies
EVERYONE ELSE ....alas, my hand is getting tired of typing, but I shall severely miss all of you as well!!!! And I look forward (déja) to seeing you all in three months!!!
adieu.
